Congratulations to the Faces of Diversity & Restaurant Neighborhood Awards Finalists

Congratulations to Cherry Perkins from Mr. Perkin’s Family Restaurant who was selected as the Wisconsin finalist for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s Faces of Diversity – American Dream award.

The American Dream award celebrates members of the restaurant and foodservice industry who are the best representation of how, through hard work and determination, one can achieve the American Dream in this industry.

The national winners for the Faces of Diversity American Dream Awards were honored during the National Restaurant Association’s annual Public Affairs Conference, April 12 – 13 in Washington, DC. Perkins did not win at the national level. Read More Here

The Restaurant Neighbor Award, developed in partnership with American Express, celebrates the outstanding charitable service performed by restaurant operators throughout the U.S. Created 18 years ago, this award recognizes the impact restaurants and entrepreneurs have made on their local communities. The national winners – chosen in from state awardees by a panel of restaurant and foodservice industry leaders from across the country – were honored at a restaurant and foodservice industry gala awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 12, 2016. Although Wisconsin did not win at the national level this year, we would like to congratulate our 2016 finalists, Culver’s of Darboy in Appleton (small business category), The Fireside Dinner Theatre in Fort Atkinson (medium business category), Wisconsin Hospitality Group in Waukesha (large business category) and Barkha Daily from The Cheel in Thiensville (cornerstone humanitarian).

“Each year, the Wisconsin Restaurant Association, in partnership with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, recognizes people and businesses who exemplify the good work and great achievements that are possible in the restaurant industry,” said Ed Lump, WRA’s President and CEO. “This year’s finalists showcase the philanthropic and entrepreneurial spirit unique to Wisconsin’s robust restaurant community – one that gives back in communities each and every day.”
